- If you are sharing the fence and costs with a neighbor, it can be installed directly on the line.
- We recommend a 5-inch setback from your property line if you are not sharing the fence with a neighbor. This 5-inch gap ensures the entire structure—including the underground concrete—remains 1 inch inside your property line.
FMS handles all Ontario One Call (utility locates) before we arrive. We ensure gas, hydro, and fiber lines are marked to guarantee a safe and legal installation. Homeowner is responsible to notify and mark all private utilities ( Gas/electrical line for pool/hot tub, electrical to shed/garage, etc..)
In residential backyards, the maximum height is generally 2.13 metres (just under 7 feet). For front yards, the limit is typically 1 metre (approx. 3.2 feet) to maintain traffic visibility. Note that corner lots may have further restrictions.
